For international qualification and sub-degree holders (non-JUPAS), each successful awardee will be given one or multiple offers with BAAS-adjusted conditions, together with the scholarship results.
No, there is no specific quota set on different schools or academic programs nor on the types of talents. Applicants will be awarded as long as s/he demonstrates qualities up to the standards.
HKUST recognizes a full spectrum of talents and expertise. In fact, the establishment of BAAS is a milestone for HKUST to reward students with a wider range of know-how and achievements. If a certain area of expertise delivers positive impacts to our society, it will be taken into account without being inferior as compared to the established areas.
Multiple talents will be an advantage in our overall assessment. However, the level of achievement also plays an integral role in the decision. Applicants are encouraged to fill in as many talents for the assessment panel's consideration.
At the moment, SAAS mainly focuses on local athletes. International students with excellent sports achievement can directly apply for BAAS.
Local student athletes should apply to SAAS. The committee will assess and allocate your application to the most suitable and favorable scheme for each successful applicant. If you have astonishing sports achievements, you will be considered for SAAS; If you are having good sporting remarks while also demonstrating multiple areas of excellence, you will be considered for BAAS.
Applicants can attach work demo files by appending web-based links in any document uploaded, such as the CV or the presentation file.
Usually, entrepreneur applicants would attach their proposals and/or the start-up presentation slides to their BAAS application. Applicants may also go creative as they see suitable.
As a part of the overall assessment, shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview. Applicants are expected to introduce themselves and elaborate on their passion and development goals. The interview panel may also enquire about the details of the applicants' achievements.
For JUPAS applicants, awardees will be informed of all the bonuses before the HKDSE result release date.
For international qualification and sub-degree holders (non-JUPAS), awardees will receive the scholarship offer and the BAAS-adjusted conditional offer(s) / firmed offer(s) together.
