Accommodation at HKUST is limited and in great demand, so reservations are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to non-local students. We recommend applying for housing as soon as you receive your admission offer.
Please check the details of each program to confirm whether accommodation is included.
General Accommodation Information
- As the number of HKUST-managed residential halls is limited and in high demand, reservations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Priority for HKUST-managed residential halls is given to non-local residence students. Only students admitted to the HKUST Pre-University Program are eligible for a fixed period of residence.
- After accepting your program offer through the online application system, you will receive details and instructions for applying for hall or hotel accommodation. You will then need to submit your online reservation. Alternatively, you may arrange your own hotel or short-term rental apartment.
- Once your hall accommodation placement is confirmed, you will be required to pay the accommodation fee via the Online Reservation Platform.
For Secondary School Students ONLY:
- Only students aged 15 or above (on or before the check-in date) may stay in HKUST-managed residential halls during the program period.
Students under the age of 15 are not eligible for HKUST-managed residential halls and should arrange hotel accommodation and/or stay with family members during the program period. Students must be accompanied by a guardian aged 18 or above when checking into a hotel.

For HKUST Residential Hall:
- Payment method: Credit card, WeChat Pay, AlipayHK, Alipay, or FPS payment via the Online Reservation Platform
- The accommodation fee is non-transferable, non-refundable, non-exchangeable and not for re-sale.
- Further details about accommodation arrangements will be provided once your program offer is confirmed.
- Reservations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Priority will be given to non-local students.
