- Why HKUST
At HKUST, students are able to participate in academic research during their undergraduate years. Research projects are created by supervisors from all four schools and the Interdisciplinary Programs Office, so that students can gain research experience under the supervision of professors and world-class researchers.
BEng in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Class of 2021
This international competition allows students to explore and develop synthetic biology solutions then share their findings at the annual iGEM jamboree. Since 2008, HKUST students have collaborated on and developed projects under the guidance of faculty instructors and advisors who have previously taken part in iGEM competitions.
Like-minded women faculty have come together at HKUST (a strong supporter of gender parity in higher education) to form the Women Faculty Association (WFA).
Top female students are encouraged to pursue a degree in science, engineering, and interdisciplinary studies through WFA’s WISE Scholarships program. WFA also has a WISE Club, where female science and engineering students can support one another and grow together.
