A Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree began his entrepreneurial journey at HKUST
Description

"HKUST offers a supportive environment for entrepreneurship. The university has an entrepreneurship center and incubation space called The Base. These facilities provide various programs, incubation, and acceleration initiatives to promote innovation.

I co-founded Breer with three other HKUST students during my first year at university. We're a start-up that produces high-quality craft beer by upcycling surplus bread.

HKUST provides valuable support for student entrepreneurs like me with lots of resources, programs, and mentorship support. The university's entrepreneurship-friendly environment fosters a sense of empowerment and motivates students to pursue their business ideas with enthusiasm.”

Stand out in the competitive job market
Description

"In today's fiercely competitive job market, being good is simply not enough. To truly stand out, one must be skilled, hardworking, and fearlessly put themselves out there – lessons I took to heart during my transformative years at HKUST. The university's culture of going the extra mile, constantly building skills, and pursuing passions shaped me into the go-getter I am today.

HKUST's exchange program with Singapore Management University (SMU) significantly shaped my career prospects. The opportunity to immerse myself in a new cultural environment and education system was invaluable and has equipped me with a skill set that has made me a more attractive candidate to future employers. HKUST's commitment to holistic excellence thoroughly prepared me not just to succeed, but to boldly reimagine what's possible, leading to my internship and graduate job at HSBC.

Reflecting on my time at HKUST, I am confident that the university's emphasis on practical, hands-on learning has been instrumental in preparing me for the demands of my job at HSBC, one of the world's largest banking and financial services organizations. The skills and experiences I've gained through the diverse opportunities provided by HKUST have enabled me to hit the ground running, making an immediate impact within the organization."
