This course helps students develop better analytical and decision-making skills in approaching practical and important daily life issues, without the use of any advanced knowledge in mathematics and statistics. Students will derive solutions or conclusions that require critical thinking, creativity, quantitative analysis, and common
sense. In this short course, students will also learn to apply different decision analysis concepts and tools in a selected set of interesting problems with greater confidence.

• Decisions Traps and the Reasons for making Bad Decisions
• Critical Thinking in Decision Making
• Analytical Thinking in Decision Making
• Statistical Thinking in Decision Making
• Assignments (30%)
• Attendance, in-class participation and exercises, and discussion (20%)

Attendance is expected and required. The minimum attendance required is 70%. Attendance for the assessment activities [e.g. group presentation and final exam] is mandatory.
