Program Description

The HKUST Summer Bootcamp for Polymath is an intensive program designed to cultivate exceptionally talented high school students into well-rounded polymaths, led by HKUST professors. This distinctive experience adopts an interdisciplinary approach, seamlessly integrating business and management, engineering, science, humanities and social sciences, and the academy of interdisciplinary studies.

Embark on a transformative journey at the HKUST Summer Bootcamp for Polymath, where you'll unlock your potential as a future leader and innovator. Discover how to blend diverse fields, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), to drive impactful Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) solutions.

Program Objectives:

  1. Cultivate Interdisciplinary Skills: Encourage students to integrate knowledge from various fields, including business, engineering, science, humanities, and social sciences, to develop a holistic understanding of complex issues.
  2. Enhance Leadership Abilities: Equip participants with the skills necessary to become effective leaders and innovators, fostering qualities such as critical thinking, collaboration, and ethical decision-making.
  3. Promote Innovation through AI: Explore the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in transforming government and public sectors, emphasizing its potential to enhance Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.
  4. Develop Problem-Solving Strategies: Provide students with practical tools and methodologies to tackle real-world challenges, encouraging creative and impactful solutions.
  5. Encourage Social Responsibility: Instill a sense of social responsibility in students, motivating them to consider the ethical implications of their work and to contribute positively to society through their interdisciplinary projects.

This year, we are collaborating with several renowned companies and industry leaders who provide real-world cases and insights into future developments around the globe, including Acer, Ocean Park, Cyberport & Elevatefoods, MakeOmnia Limited and more. We believe that these practical cases will stimulate our learning.  Participants will be assigned specific topics for their group capstone projects. Throughout the program, students will engage in a diverse range of lectures that will enrich their learning experience. The program itinerary is customized for the group to maximize their impact and creativity.
