The BEng in Civil and Environmental Engineering provides broad engineering training with an emphasis on the areas of drinking water and wastewater treatment, waste-to-energy/resources technologies, carbon emissions and decarbonization strategies, green and renewable energy, low-carbon circular economy, sustainable land remediation and hazardous waste management, and air/noise pollution control. As environmental health and global sustainability is a major public concern all over the world, exacerbated in Hong Kong and Asia by their particularly rapid economic development, more and more resources are required to protect and manage our environment for attaining the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Thus, properly trained environmental engineers will be in increasing demand in the years to come.
Internship training, industrial training, final-year project and capstone design project are included in our innovative and balanced curriculum. Internship training gives students opportunities to gain professional experience and apply theories to real-life situations.
