Taking a gap semester for a 6-month full-time internship as a Business Analyst at BOCHK was one of my best experiences during my study at HKUST. As an intern in the Data Application Division, my role was to connect risk managers and developers by translating the business needs into technical tasks. I had the opportunity to work on various IT and risk management projects, such as building an automation tool for credit risk calculation, and developing a data dictionary platform for maintain metadata health. This placement allowed me to make a visible impact on real business problems, and provided me with valuable insights for my future career planning. Overall, it was truly a highly rewarding experience.
