有志攻讀計算機科學專業的學生,應直接報讀計算機科學及工程學系。在第一學年末,他們可以自由選擇未來修讀計算機科學(COMP)或人工智能(AI)工學士課程。對於那些希望在選擇雙主修,其一主修為計算機科學(COSC)理學士課程的學生,他們可以在第一個學年結束後提交申請。

希望在鎖定主修專業之前有更多時間探索各種工程學科的學生可申請「工程學 – 人工智能延伸主修 」。不過,透過此途徑進入計算機科學及工程學系的名額有限,競爭激烈。學院制入學的學生如在入學後入讀計算機科學及工程學系,必須放棄人工智能延伸主修。

計算機科學及工程學系(CSE)匯集了世界知名的教育家和研究人員,他們在大數據、網絡安全、人工智能、雲計算、網絡、圖形學、社交媒體、軟件開發和計算理論等領域的研究及應用享譽全球。 

工學士(計算機科學)  

計算機科學研究電腦科技在科學、工程和商務上的應用,以解決各領域中的重要問題。本工學士課程提供全方位的教育,培養學生解決計算問題的能力,必修科目涵蓋編程、數據結構、算法、操作系統和軟件工程等核心領域。因應興趣,學生其後可選修計算機科學的不同領域,例如數據庫、數據挖掘、網絡、嵌入系統、計算機圖形學、圖像處理、人工智能、機器學習、計算機視覺、計算機安全和計算機科學理論等。 

理學士(計算機科學) 

計算機科學理學士是雙主修項目中其中的一個專業,其教學計劃特別地為雙主修課程進行設計調整。修讀此理學士課程的學生必須同時修讀至少一門其他主修專業,包括但不限於數學、物理、金融量化、定量社會學分析、生物科技等。希望攻讀雙主修的學生可以先選擇修讀計算機科學,然後申請第二主修專業;或先選擇其他主修,然後再添加計算機科學為第二主修專業。

BEng in Computer Science (COMP)
 
Approximately 20-25% of our COMP graduates pursue postgraduate studies immediately upon graduation. While many choose to advance their research in Hong Kong, a significant number are admitted to top-tier universities worldwide. Our alumni have successfully continued their studies at prestigious institutions including University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, Harvard University, Stanford University, Princeton University, Yale University, Carnegie-Mellon University, Cornell University, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the University of Michigan, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Southern California, the University of California at Santa Barbara, and the University of Toronto.
 
Our graduates are highly sought after and consistently secure roles in their preferred professions. Many launch their careers at global tech giants—such as Google, IBM, HP, Intel, Baidu, Microsoft, and Oracle. Others apply their technological expertise within the business and financial sectors, joining premier institutions like Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, PwC, HSBC, Hang Seng Bank, and Bank of China. Additionally, a number of graduates pursue rewarding paths in government agencies or highly competitive corporate management trainee programs.
 
BSc in Computer Science (COSC)
 
The majority of COSC graduates pursue postgraduate studies; some start with Master’s degrees and some embark directly on Ph.D. degrees. The topics of their further studies depend on their interests and the other major in which they were first enrolled. While many of our alumni have pursued further studies in computer science, some have gone directly to doctoral studies in economics (Princeton), physics (Yale), applied math (Harvard), and neuroscience (Johns Hopkins), among others.
 
COSC graduates who do not undertake postgraduate studies usually pursue careers in areas related to software or finance. The actual jobs they take up often depend upon the other major in which they were enrolled. For example, COSC graduates whose second major was mathematics can work in algorithmic trading positions.
