Overview
Description
The BBA in Global Business (GBUS) program is the first-of-its-kind in Hong Kong. Highly selective and sought-after , this program aims to develop capable and motivated students to “Create Impacts with a Global and Strategic Mindset” whilst embracing international challenges. Through a core foundation of humility, enthusiasm, cultural sensitivity, and critical thinking, the vibrant, close-knit GBUS community and its influential alumni network actively shape socially responsible global leaders for today’s fast-changing world.

Education in GBUS extends far beyond the classrooms. Driven by a dynamic, diverse peer group and a strong culture of student leadership, our students learn immensely from one another, senior mentors, and alumni within a uniquely supportive community. A rich array of co-curricular activities, such as the flagship Global Leadership Forum, international study trips, and International case competitions, directly expose students to contemporary corporate and global affairs.

GBUS offers exceptional flexibility for students to customise their academic journey and build solid domain expertise. Students can choose from a wide range of additional majors and/or minors across HKUST—such as Finance, Marketing, Information Systems, Mathematics, Computer Science, Entrepreneurship, and Social Science—to align with their aspirations. Global immersion is also a cornerstone of the program. All GBUS students spend at least one term at a top-tier partner university worldwide. For those seeking even broader exposure, students can join the exchange program twice, extending their global learning across different continents.

Extended Major
GBUS students may apply for the extended major in Artificial Intelligence (AI),  Creative Arts and Digital Humanities (CADH) or Sustainability (SUST) at the end of the 3rd term of study, if they satisfy the extended major requirement. Students completing the extended major will graduate with a title bearing both the traditional major subject they selected and the extended major. For more details, refer to “Business with Extended Major in AI / CADH / SUST.
