The BBA in Global Business (GBUS) program is the first-of-its-kind in Hong Kong. As a highly sought-after business program, we envision to develop our capable and highly motivated students to “Create Impacts with a Global and Strategic Mindset” whilst embracing global challenges. This strong and vibrant community, together with GBUS graduates, pursue their dreams of becoming socially responsible global leaders through humility, enthusiasm, cultural sensitivity, compassion, and sound critical thinking, which are exceptionally valuable qualities in today’s fast-changing world.
Our program allows great flexibility for students to customize their learning experience within and beyond classrooms. To fit their interests and aspirations, students can select from a range of additional majors and/or minors offered across Schools at HKUST. The comprehensive GBUS experiential learning equips students with global insights and remarkable opportunities, open doors to embark their journey with hands-on application of knowledge through consulting projects and service learning.
All GBUS students are ensured to spend at least one semester studying abroad at a top business school of their choice, thus forming a wide global network. Our students can also enjoy a second exchange via the School’s exchange program to further extend their global learning spanning across continents.
Extended Major
GBUS students may apply for the extended major in Artificial Intelligence or Digital Media and Creative Arts at the end of the 3rd term of study, if they satisfy the extended major requirement. Students completing the extended major will graduate with a title bearing both the traditional major subject they selected and the extended major. In 2022, 60% of our graduates entered the top-notch banking and finance firms, 33% are in administration and management consulting industries, and the rest took jobs in marketing and retail businesses, developed their own start-ups, started a career in big teech firms or professional services.
